Do you really not like the rest of Hold Your Fire? Love your honesty. That chorus during ‘Lock and Key’ not do anything for you? Tai Shan is a bit of a throw away but other than that I love this album.

I think every Rush fan has that one album they can't stand, and the great thing is, the album is different from person to person! :D For me, it's definitely Hold Your Fire. "Lock and Key" is okay, definitely not the worst on the album, but it doesn't do a whole heck of a lot for me, personally.

I was so taken aback when I first heard it! Is this the same guy who sings "I Own A Car" and "6969"?

This is the only Rush song I know of where they invited a guest singer (Aimee Mann) to record with them. The result was phenomenal.

This puts me in mind of another "only" song, Different Strings. That's the only Rush song I know of after Neil joined the band where he didn't write the lyrics. Geddy penned that one. Look forward to Different Strings' turn in the rotation. It has such a beautiful, sad melody.

If you like Different Strings (and I know I do!) Leoni Jane Kennedy put together a pretty rad mash-up of "Different Strings" and "Twilight Zone" called "Different Zone": https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=1nXMx8Ej0uA&ab_channel=LeoniJaneKennedy-Topic

I'll feature a different one of her covers next week, but she's quickly becoming one of my fave interpreters of the Rush catalogue!
